The Blues were fun to meet. |
Ball passing was a skill we trained in. |
We were sitting and waiting patiently for the winning Blues Rugby team to call us up for training drills. The captain Ali Williams talked to us about what we were going to do. Hurray! At last we were in teams and playing fun games. We played cat and mouse, rippa tag and lots of passing skills relays. We ran, we walked, we passed the ball, we lined up quietly, we kicked and we listened very carefully.
Finally our day at Toll Stadium ended. It was time to go back to school. But the fun hadn't quite finished. Back at school we each got a bag of treats from the Blues. There were lolly snakes, a cool poster and a special glowing Blues flag magnet. Ms Gentil had a great idea for us. Because it was so hot we were all allowed to cool off with a swim in the pool.

We really did have a fantastic afternoon at Blue Beard Day. I was so proud of how hard you all worked and how well behaved you were. A free swim for the whole syndicate was an awesome way to end the day. Room 2 is looking forward to following your blog. Have an awesome weekend Room 1.

I am very jealous that you got to meet the Blues Room 1!! What a fun afternoon you must have had. I went to the rugby game the next day to watch them and it was very hot that day - you did very well to be so good in the hot sun.

Dear Room 1,
ReplyDeleteWe think you are lucky to meet the Blues. Thank you for sharing your story. We like the Blues. We think you were good at passing the ball. Did you know some of the Blues are All Blacks? The Blues are our favourite Super 15 team.
Thanks!
From Room 13
It was a fantastic afternoon for everyone and you were all great.
